The Role of an Adoption Facilitator |

through each step of the adoption process.

· Adoption dossier translation. An adoption dossier is collection of required documents needed to proceed with the adoption process in Ukraine - from the Home Study to the Letter of Obligation. The Adoption Overview page of this website lists the documents which comprise an adoption dossier.
· Translate paperwork so that a proper petition can be filed with the court.
· Translate all documents for the U.S. Embassy.
· Translate all new documents on children (birth certificates, orphanage medical reports, etc.).
· Review court file and
make sure that all necessary papers are contained therein.

· Visit local notaries for documents to be submitted to court.
· Coordinate with different entities to obtain all official stamp approvals on translated documents.
· Obtain notarization on translated court decree.
· Notarize translated documents obtained from the courts.
· Compile all documentation required to obtain new travel passport.
· Prepare Ukrainian adoption documents for approval at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv.
· Help prepare U.S. documents that are needed at the U.S. Embassy (I-600, DS-230, etc.).
· Constant communication and exchange of information with clients.
· Meet clients at airport, arrange all accommodations, and provide transportation in Kyiv and surrounding regions.
· Accompany clients throughout Ukraine.
· Assist clients to make arrangements to leave Kyiv.
· Attend meeting with Ukrainian Adoption Authority and client.
· Attend meetings with clients at the Ukrainian orphanage.
· Obtain final approval from the Ukrainian Adoption Authority to adopt the particular child before the court date.
· Attend court hearing.

· Travel to child’s birthplace and obtain birth certificate.
· Travel back to Kyiv with family and get final notarizations of translations of child's file into English.
· Escort client to required medical visit at U.S. Medical Center.
· There is downtime between the first court hearing and the final decree. Your adoption facilitator will set up excursions, dinners, entertainment to introduce you to Ukrainian culture.
